I walked 4 miles over huge twisting roots and occasional muddy trail with my sister Elizabeth and friend Dawn under redwoods and finally through Fern Canyon. We took our time and watched our steps with many pauses for appreciation of the ancient forest, sentinels standing over a thousand years.
