Refugees are not a problem: they are human beings. War and other acts of inhumanity are the problem. Global climate change is a problem. Short sighted ignorance of the fragile state of our shared existence on this planet is a problem. Only by opening our eyes and hearts to the real challenges facing humanity can we begin to resolve the suffering and fears of all people that keep us separate from each other. Everyone of us is a human being and nothing can make us not so.
