Sunny Day by the Pond

Out by the pond,

A brilliant piece of sky

perches on its shadow.

Late spring afternoon

leaves waver in sun and shadow 

 translucent then opaque

Sounds of waterbirds

cannot penetrate

the  wall of spring leaves

Fine hairs on green stems 

catching sunlight

turn to silver.

Playing with Light in My Studio
