If I really see you, I will laugh out loud,
or fall silent, or explode into a thousand pieces.
If I don’t, I will be caught in the cement and stone of my own prison.

Could you please give me the source poem and book title for the Rumi quote on your website:
If I See You
If I really see you, I will laugh out loud, or fall silent, or explode into a thousand pieces.
If I don’t, I will be caught in the cement and stone of my own prison.
Thanks so much, Katherine
I got it from the Sun or UTNE reader about 5 years ago and just had it around in a journal. I have not been able to find it in a book, but there are many books on Rumi in print (Both about him and collections of his poetry.) He is actually the best selling poet of recent years. Not bad for a man that died over 500 years ago.
