As I have not numbered all of them I am guessing, but I think this is number 8.
Anyway here it is: I will go into the world today with the attitude that I am the only unenlightened person on earth, as if I was an alien learning how to be in this world. So in effect, everyone I meet will be my teacher and every experience will be a learning experience. I will ask many questions to clarify the hows and whys and question silently the significance of simple actions, both my own and those of others.
I will be asking myself, “What is the significance of this?” and listening carefully to thoughts and feelings of others, who will be my teachers and remain open to what I can learn from them. I will also be patient of my mistakes as I am just a novice and bound to stumble now and then.
What is the purpose? I want to experience the world with wonder and innocence, to find some aspects I might be missing that are being blocked by cynical attitudes, preconceptions, and prejudice. Maybe I will learn from people and experiences I would generally overlook as mundane or uninteresting. I go forth today with the attitude that the whole world is my teacher, and I, the ignorant and humble student eagerly attentive to all of it’s lessons.
